Get a life … Before it gets so bad you can’t!

Are you feeling stressed out because of a difficult work situation? Wanting to get a life you love, but you don’t have the energy to do anything different?

Being stressed out is often caused by toxic work situations. Or even ‘normal’ work situations where you feel like you don’t have a lot of choice about your workload, types of work, or the people you work with.

Unfortunately, once you’re really stressed out, it can be extremely difficult to get a life that you want, or change your work situation, because you can’t muster the energy. It’s just not there.

Having experienced times of extreme stress, I know what it’s like to pull myself up from the depths of exhaustion and overwhelm.

Get energy so you can get a life

Here are the ways I was able to build the energy I needed to get stress relief, despite being stressed out, and continue creating a life I truly love, ongoing:

  1. Sleep: I make sure I absolutely get the sleep I need. Several of my clients have had insomnia; I make sure they are working with health professionals to resolve their sleep issues.
  2. Meditation: Every day, before I do anything else, I meditate. I used binaural beat technology to help. I started with just a couple of minutes every day then gradually increased my time to 15-30 minutes each morning.
  3. Nutrition: I have worked with two different nutritionists and my doctor to help me find the diet and supplements that provide me with stable energy. Plenty of water and minimizing sugar/processed foods was key.
  4. Choice: I learned that I have a choice about everything I do. Really! Once I started exercising choice, my workload started to ease. Eventually I learned that overwhelm is caused by making choices that don’t allow me to be at my best.

How did these activities help me get a life I love? 1-3 helped build my energy. 4 helped me eliminate overwhelm.

Take charge so you can get a life

I experienced stress when I saw the causes of stress as outside of myself. Once I took charge of my basic health and choices, I was able to gradually move toward the life and work I wanted.
